What Is a Rhythm Strip?
A Rhythm Strip is a brief recording from one or two ECG leads, typically lead II, that provides a snapshot of the heart’s rhythm over a specific time period. While not a full 12-lead ECG, it is incredibly useful for identifying abnormal heartbeats such as atrial fibrillation, bradycardia, tachycardia, and other arrhythmias.

How the Rhythm Strip Test Works
Small adhesive electrodes are placed on the chest to monitor electrical impulses from the heart. The rhythm is continuously displayed and printed for a short period—usually 6–10 seconds—for analysis by our cardiologists. This test is safe, quick (often under 5 minutes), and may be performed in-office or in an emergency setting.
