An ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) or pacemaker check is a routine diagnostic evaluation to ensure that your implanted heart device is working correctly. These devices help regulate abnormal heart rhythms, and regular checks are crucial for optimal function and to adjust settings if needed. The check is painless and usually done externally with a programmer.

Dr. M. Usman Khan is a confident, compassionate, and highly skilled interventional and general cardiologist with a reputation for excellence in patient care, academic achievement, and clinical innovation. A graduate of the prestigious King Edward Medical College, Dr. Khan earned the distinction of being named both Best Graduate and Most Distinguished Graduate. He was honored with four gold medals, two silver medals, and multiple academic awards. His prolific research career includes more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in leading medical journals and multiple accolades for his contributions to cardiovascular science.

Dr. Khan specializes in both basic and advanced cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic modalities including simple and complex percutaneous coronary and vascular interventions, cardiac catheterization through both radial and femoral approaches, advanced cardiac support including Impella, intra-aortic Balloon Pump, rotational and laser atherectomy, PFO and ASD closure, Alcohol Septal Ablation, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), carotid and peripheral angiography and angioplasty, venous ablations and use of venaseal, interventions for occluded coronary and peripheral vessels, interventions for venous thrombo-embolism, transthoracic and trans-esophageal echocardiography, stress testing with SPECT, PET and echocardiography, Loop recorder implant, temporary venous pacemaker, cardioversion and electrocardiography.
