I am thankful to Dr. Usman Khan for the wonderful opportunity to work with him as an extern at Epic Heart and Vascular Center in June 2023. I had the opportunity to interact with patients, write history, analyze it and present it to Dr. khan for feedback. I got to learn EMR system (ECLINICAL WORKS) which was a new experience for me. I got to see the overall management of patients both in hospital and clinic setting.
I find Dr. Khan to be a excellent physician and a good teacher. I got to learn how to clinically correlate findings on EKG, Echo and Doppler studies. Dr. khan encouraged us to ask any questions during rounds and was always approachable for any kinds of hardships. Apart from clinical exposure, He encouraged me to get up to date with various recent guidelines of ACC. I also presented ACC guideline on Rheumatic mitral stenosis.
I am confident this US clinical experience will help me shape my future career in US residency.
