I had the privilege of working under the expert guidance of Dr. Usman Khan, an experience that has profoundly transformed my perspective. Dr. Khan, undoubtedly the most pivotal aspect of this rotation, not only as my preceptor but also as a coach and motivator. His discerning ability to assess my performance and offer constructive feedback on areas of improvement proved to be an invaluable asset. Dr. Khan’s mentorship and encouragement have provided me with the necessary impetus to confront challenges head-on and surmount them.
One of the most gratifying facets of this rotation was the immersive, hands-on experience it furnished. My involvement encompassed an array of responsibilities, ranging from meticulously recording patients’ histories to conducting thorough physical examinations and actively participating in patient care within the clinical environment.
A standout feature of this experience was the utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically eClinical Works. Acquiring the proficiency to efficiently navigate and employ EMR systems emerged as an indispensable skill, augmenting my clinical competency.
As my rotation draws to a close, I leave with newfound confidence in my capabilities, a transformation facilitated by Dr. Khan and the entire staff, with a special acknowledgment to Miss Kelly and all those whom I encountered during this period. It has been an immensely enriching experience.
