During the month of May, I had the privilege of immersing myself in Dr. Usman Khan’s esteemed hospital for an externship. The mentorship I received, coupled with exposure to the intricacies of both cardiology and internal medicine practices in the USA, contributed immensely to my profound and transformative clinical experience. My well-behaved and compassionate approach was consistently evident across diverse patient populations, including Spanish-speaking individuals, leading the hospital staff to commend my potential as a future doctor in the USA and extol my humane and empathetic nature. Notably, Dr. Khan expressed his unequivocal readiness to take me on as a resident and/or recommend me without any hesitation or dilemma, should the opportunity arise.
Furthermore, my meticulously prepared presentation on “Aspirin for Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease: Platelet-guided Approach” garnered enthusiastic praise from Dr. Khan himself, fostering thought-provoking discussions. This recognition underscored the depth of my engagement and understanding, serving as a testament to the rewarding journey I embarked upon during this invaluable externship.
