My name is Muhmmad Aazan Tariq, and I am an international medical graduate from Pakistan. I had the privilege of completing an observership with Dr. Muhammad Usman Khan in August, an experience that had a profound impact on my clinical knowledge and professional development.
In the outpatient clinic, I observed patient interactions and history taking, while also becoming familiar with the use of Electronic Medical Records. I had the opportunity to observe procedures including venous ablation techniques such as Varithena and VenaSeal, which provided valuable insight into the management of venous disorders.
During the hospital-based portion of my observership, I was able to observe angiography procedures, perfusion imaging, and ECG interpretation. These experiences enriched my understanding of cardiovascular diagnostics and interventions, and allowed me to appreciate the nuances of patient management across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Khan is not only an exceptional clinician but also a generous mentor. Despite his demanding schedule, he took the time to guide me, answer my questions, and encourage my learning. His professionalism, humility, and commitment to teaching have left a lasting impression on me. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have learned from him, and it was an honor to be his student.
