I had the distinct privilege of working with Dr. Usman Khan during my four-week clinical rotation at Epic Heart and Vascular Center in the month of August. I shadowed him in the hospital and gained hands-on experience in the clinic by evaluating four to five patients per day, discussing the management plan, and using the electronic medical record (EMR). I was also able to assist him with non-invasive cardiovascular testing, such as stress testing, echocardiography, carotid, lower extremity arterial, and venous duplex scans, and observe various cardiovascular procedures, such as cardiac catheterization, peripheral angiogram/angioplasty, and venous ablation. He also provided me with the opportunity to deliver a presentation entitled “Combined Lipid-Lowering Therapy in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.”
When it comes to cardiology, Dr. Khan is at the top of his field. I am really appreciative of the thorough education he gave me and the time he spent to educate and explain to me the nuances of situations and procedures. Throughout my stay there, I saw Dr. Khan’s unwavering commitment to his patients as he continually delivered excellent care.

He collaborated with other healthcare professionals, and his clear and concise communication style facilitated a streamlined and productive workflow. The nurse practitioners operating under the supervision of Dr. Khan were also extremely cooperative.
